So.....a new blog on all things Catholic, in Des Moines....

Hello World!!!

My name is Andy Milam and I have decided that it is time to start a blog talking about all things Catholic.  I happen to be one and I happen to be a traditional Catholic.  Now, some of you might think, uh oh....he's one of those crazy conservatives that doesn't believe in the modern liturgy....well, you'd be pretty close.  My affinity lies in the Extraordinary Form.  That is what we'll be exploring over the next however long this blog goes on.

A few things about me.  I'm not overly creative.  I tend to parrot back what the Church teachtes.  The Church is a lot smarter than me, so I will most likely defer to her most of the time.  I will offer commentary, but it will have an orthodox slant, so if you've got an issue with that, tough nuggets.  I am in line with Rome.  I am not a supporter of anything sedevacantist.  I am sympathetic to the SSPX.  I am a huge fan of the FSSP and the ICRSS.

I will from time to time speak of the Iowa Hawkeyes, golf, college football, my family, and of course the Church.  This is not going to be stuffy, so if you think that traddy Catholics are that way, I'm not one of them....I was asked to start this by some Catholic friends.  So, I am starting this....there will be some hard hits, there will be some fun conversations, and there will be some sadness (look at the state of Holy Mother Church).

Look for posts to come often....some will be links to other sites.  Some will be commentary on Church happenings.  Some will be about life in Iowa....

So, to get started, I am a financial advisor.  I won't be giving advice here.  If you want advice, call me at work.  I am a parishoner at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Des Moines, Iowa.  I volunteer in the parish and I have a lot of fun doing it.  I work as a Master of Ceremonies.  I am a "liturgy wonk."  You'll get to see plenty of that.

Hello World.
